Open and Edit PDF files in AutoCAD
PDFin opens PDF files for editing directly within AutoCAD and other Autodesk applications. Although it works with any version of AutoCAD through 2023, it’s useful for versions AutoCAD released before 2018 since they don’t have PDF support built-in. PDFin extracts editable objects and text from PDF and presents you with a drawing where all elements and attributes can be modified.
PDFin works like the PDFIMPORT command in newer versions of AutoCAD to open PDF files for direct editing control! It’s available for all versions of AutoCAD between 2002 and 2023.
Certified and available via the Autodesk Exchange Store or directly from Visual Integrity, the PDFin plug-in unlocks PDF drawings with one step. PDFin is accessed via the command line or from a toolbar icon. PDFin will immediately open any computer-generated vector PDF file. All objects can be modified. Text will be editable as MTEXT if stored as characters in the original PDF file. If it was “plotted” as pen strokes, the text will appear but can not be edited. The PDFin plug-in is not for scanned drawings and other raster PDF files. The PDF Underlay feature in AutoCAD can be used for these files.
The PDFin plug-in opens one-page PDF files. For multipage conversions, support for layers, custom rotation, and other advanced options, consider purchasing pdf2cad.
We are proud to be Autodesk certified:
Requires an Autodesk program and computer-generated PDF files. Not for scanned or hand drawings.
